Our Story
Two Founders
The Birth of Lumera
Chris Voute, a passionate inventor and Carman Adair, a seasoned businessman and serial entrepreneur both live and work in the Vancouver area of British Columbia. We collectively saw the need for a solar energy system that was easy to install, eye-catching, efficient and affordably priced. The goal was to create an out-of-the-box solution for off-grid cabins, supplementary power systems, remote communities and more. We partnered in creating the company Lumera Solar Inc. After early success selling our SolarHexx Flower, we began manufacturing PV modules locally and expanding our product line. We focus on customized solutions for our customers with quality, longevity and power production as our top priority.
Our Mission
To provide customers with products that are practical and exciting, made to high quality standards and at a fair price. We hope to get people EXCITED about using free electricity from the sun. We hope that we can create more new products that are effective in providing solutions for off-grid power needs and practical to the local and global community. Our goal is to manufacture and assemble all components and parts in Canada, sourcing raw materials locally where possible. From silicon wafers and cut glass to a beautiful Lumera Solar Panel, Canada is capable of green energy.
The Future
Lumera continues to innovate in green energy technology, with a goal of introducing new and innovative products each year. From specialized solar modules to portable off-grid energy solutions, we focus on identifying new applications and turning ideas into practical products.
Our team combines experience in electrical and mechanical engineering with expertise in automation and manufacturing technology. This allows us to develop efficient, cost-effective production processes and bring new products from concept to production.
As Lumera continues to grow across North America, we remain focused on emerging technologies, market trends and new applications for renewable energy. The green energy industry is constantly evolving, and Lumera has the engineering expertise, manufacturing capability and experience to turn new ideas into real-world solutions.

I have tested a single panel out in a side by side comparison with a Rich Solar 200 watt panel. This was done in mid March on a mostly sunny day in the PNW and I found that the Lumera bifacial panel had a significantly higher efficiency.

They fit perfect on the Transit 148″ high roof, roof rack. I fit 2 of the 220W and 2 of the 100W solar panels around my roof fan. Now I rarely charge from my alternator.

Chief Executive Officer
Chris is the visionary behind future innovation at Lumera Solar. As the co-founder of the company, he has provided the engineering and technical expertise necessary for setting up Lumera’s manufacturing operations. Chris is the founder of several successful businesses in Canada and is now focused on seeing Lumera become a major supplier of the solar market.
Peter Baartman
Chief Technology Officer
Peter is a Red Seal Metal Fabricator and manages Lumera’s manufacturing operations. His vision for robotics, operations and manufacturing has shaped Lumera’s position in the global solar market. Peter is experienced in multiple industries, ranging from Oil and Mining to Construction and Concrete. He brings elements from each of these industries into Lumera’s green energy focus.
